Community Groups Will Benefit from Proceeds of Saratoga Springs Rotary Club’s Annual Home and Garden Show

Show Promises Fun Family Outing
The 2010 Saratoga Springs Rotary Club Home & Garden Show will be held on Friday, February 26th through Sunday, February 28th, at the Saratoga Springs City Center. The majority of the show’s proceeds benefit Saratoga area organizations and youth scholarships. Show hours are Friday, February 26th from 5 pm to 9 pm; Saturday, February 27th from 9 am to 7 pm; and Sunday, February 28th from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission for adults is $6; children 5-12 are $1, and children under 5 are free.
Over 100 exhibitors will fill the City Center, offering diverse products and services for inside and outside the home. Informative seminars on Saturday and Sunday will help visitors learn about specific home and garden topics. “The Home and Garden Show marks our annual transition from winter into spring – the public is invited inside the City Center to enjoy colorful garden displays, innovative landscape designs, and fantastic home improvement ideas that remind us all of the warmer weather ahead,” commented Ian Morton, this year’s chairman of the event.
“Our Show proceeds are invested back into community organizations and youth scholarships. Balloons for the kids and free promotional items from exhibitors, along with a great array of door prizes and the chance to win our grand prize 46-inch flat panel digital television, make the Home and Garden Show an affordable and fun family event.”
In recent years, the Rotary Club’s Home and Garden Show has raised over $100,000; most of which is divided between local donations and major financial gifts to community organizations and youth scholarships. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2009, the Saratoga Springs Rotary Club awarded a major gift of $22,000 to the Saratoga Affordable Housing Group in Saratoga Springs, along with additional local contributions of more than $20,000. The Club also awarded fourteen area high school seniors with scholarships worth more than $42,000 in 2009 for their pursuit of post-secondary education, including vocational training, two-year and four-year college programs.
The Adirondack Trust Company is the major sponsor for the Home and Garden Show. Ray Supply is sponsoring the Grand Prize of a 46-inch flat panel digital television. Allerdice Building Supply is sponsoring door prizes. Crawford Door and Window is the Seminar Sponsor, G.A. Bove Fuels is the hospitality sponsor, and the Saratogian is the print media sponsor.
